Hiking gear and tools are mostly designed for endurance and performance. However, unlike these utilitarian objects, ‘Cartography of Soft Steps’ reveals a more tender approach.
Referencing the rhythm of movement in walking, the attention to the terrain and an overall curiosity for exploration, this collection of adorning wearables crafted from brass inhabits a space between sculpture and equipment, engaging with ephemeral dimensions of memory, gesture and emotional trace. Carried on and with the body, the pieces connect to nostalgia and wonder, to the ways how we engage with our surroundings, to ways of thinking and imagining, and to the encounters with nature that shape the stories we carry within.

The everyday act of opening and closing curtains creates a hybrid connection between body and fabric, as both become each others expressive extensions. 'In Abito' challenges this relationship with a research into performance and theatre by initiating exploration of the physical spatial framework, playing with tensions of concealment and exposure, identity and safety. The scenographic conceptual installation invites to be activated by a performing body to reflect on the need for intimacy within dwelling spaces. By merging space and body, 'In Abito' blurrs the perception of what's inside and outside, and addresses what watching and being watched might entail.

Of Bells and Pockets explores the question of where and how memory resides. In a process-driven dialogue between material and meaning, knitted textiles - produced with TextielLab Tilburg - were combined with needle felt, wet felt, and metal.
A magical bell - the bell of the fool - leads to the soft house we might carry within us. In the many pockets of this little house rest memories, guarded by a furry creature and the fool - felted figures who serve as gentle keepers of all that we cannot leave behind.

Blue Apron

By using blue aprons (which are traditionally worn by farmers in South Tyrol) as tools of modification, the act of dressing gets instrumentalised thus inviting reflection on clothing, its tradition and change.

Tear Tool

Tear Tool, Brass (2022)

A conceptual ring designed to catch tears. It preserves the fleeting moment when a tear gently runs down the skin and departs from the body. The movement of the tear is conserved: a gesture of release, captured as a physical trace.
